Destination Wedding in Provence to Remember

Location:

This three-day wedding party was held at Hotel Crillon Le Brave in Provence, just outside Avignon. Crillon Le Brave is the name of the hotel and the village, which dates back more than 2,000 years.

Special Touch:

A ceremonial olive tree symbolizing life and the union of marriage was spotlighted. It was a happy accident that the olive tree has the same symbolism in the bride's home country. This three-day event featured several musical ensembles - a small French group providing entertainment at the welcome party, a cello quartet performing for the ceremony, and a DJ and electric guitarist for the dancing.

Guests enjoyed local wines, cheese, and a chef-created Provençal menu. They were introduced to tasty surprises throughout the weekend, including a bar stocked with Armagnac and cognac, crêpes suzette, and a chocolate fountain. The pieèce de résistance was a dazzling fireworks show over the vineyard to conclude the festivities.

Challenge/Expertise:

With the wedding taking place in France, Cristina had to bridge the continents and their differences in time zone, culture, and mentality.
